Sickies' Garage - Sioux Falls, South Dakota

I won't often post in favor of a franchised Burger and Brew eatery, but in this case, I'm calling out specifically the Sickies' location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for their very good food and exceptional service by friendly people.

Sickies' Garage Burgers & Brew sports 50 burger choices, as well as sandwiches and salads which are, I'm sure, excellent at all of their locations. However, on our multiple trips to and through Sioux Falls, we have always been impressed with the staff at Sickie's. When you add great staff to a mouth-watering burger and tasty brew you get a blog post!

First, the burgers! With a menu full of great-looking burgers, I have two favorites. I'm a sucker for an egg on a burger so I recommend the Eggstraordinary topped with American cheese, two strips of peppered bacon and a fried egg. I have also thoroughly enjoyed the Chopper topped with two slices of peppered bacon, pickles, mayo, provolone cheese, tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Served in a basket with a load of fresh fries, both of these burgers are hard to beat. Sickies' offers 50 burgers and a bunch more sandwiches along with a full menu of wings and other things so you will certainly find something you love!

The tap at Sickies' flows 50 beers, including local flavors. This full service bar pairs perfectly with your burger, sandwich, salad or appetizer of choice.

The people at Sickies' have been welcoming on each of our visits. The staff has been extraordinary. My last three visits were each unique. I've eaten at Sickies' with my wife, with my wife and son and then with my wife, son and his entire high school basketball team. The latter can send any server into a tail spin...but not on our visit! On each visit, our server(s) were interested in our story and prompt and attentive to our wants and needs. They brought us cold drinks, hot food and they were friendly Sioux Falls residents who amplified the midwestern nature of the community of Sioux Falls.

Sickies' is only a hidden treasure in as much as you could choose from hundreds of places to eat in Sioux Falls, and, from the outside, Sickie's may not grab your attention. On the inside, Sickie's has a festive local feel with fun decor, great food, tons of menu choices and a staff that appreciates the opportunity to serve. That's the beauty of the Heartland after all!
